“One of the most important reasons to promote STEM education is it will elevate the public understanding of how science, technology and innovation affect our lives. This will create a better informed public empowered with an understanding of the increasingly technical law and policy questions we face daily. We need a citizenry with enough understanding of the issues to dictate where we should draw lines as a society on tough issues like cybersecurity and privacy. Exposure to STEM throughout schooling creates informed citizens in an increasingly science and tech driven world.”
Camille Stewart is passionate about tech being open and accessible to anyone and everyone desiring to engage.
Whether making technology and IP issues accessible to entrepreneurs and the less than technically savvy or making the tech space inclusive to include all education, ethnic, sex, geographic and professional backgrounds. Tech should be an interdisciplinary field where a variety of perspectives come together to promote innovation.
Camille has dedicated her career to blending her love for tech with her love for law and as a first generation American she has navigated these spaces thanks to the help of empowering parents, a fierce determination, and great mentors! She wants to share her successes and mistakes and help cultivate the next generation to create the most inclusive version of the tech space by empowering and amplifying diverse voices to improve and enhance this space.
