Empowering others in and through technology

Camille is passionate about empowering others in and through technology. She spends a lot of time investing in the community, collaborating with others, and continuing to learn.

Community Investments

Camille believes tech should be an interdisciplinary field where a variety of perspectives come together to promote innovation and solve the complex challenge we are facing as s society.  Camille strives to help create the most inclusive version of the cybersecurity, national security, and foreign policy sectors by empowering and amplifying diverse voices to improve and enhance the general discourse/decision-making and ensure all demographics are accounted for as decisions are made.

#ShareTHEMICINCYBer

#ShareTheMicInCyber is a movement started by Camille Stewart and Lauren Zabierek with the aim of addressing issues stemming from systemic racism in cybersecurity. The original social media campaign highlighted the experiences of Black practitioners in this field, catalyzes a critical conversation on race in the industry, and shines a light on Black practitioners’ accomplishments to showcase them as experts in their fields all while creating professional opportunities and bringing the cyber community together.

Now the #ShareTheMicInCyber Fellowship hosted at New America and the #ShareTheMicInCyber Scholarship facilitated by WISP are the hallmarks of the effort.

BUT there is more to come…

#NEXTGENNATSEC

Next Generation National Security (NextGen NatSec)  is a coalition of national security and foreign policy practitioners working to diversify the sector. This group works to amplify the contributions and voices of diverse practitioners in U.S. national security and foreign policy and create opportunities for diverse practitioners to enter and succeed in the sector. NextGen NatSec is a call to action for the national security and foreign policy apparatus, across all sectors, to prioritize diversity and inclusion in its personnel and agenda. Diversity is a strategic advantage that we must capitalize on.
